Colin Pennock
Colin Pennock is a mid career artist who paints abstract landscapes from his home in the Noosa hinterland, Queensland. He has exhibited widely in solo and group shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, London and New York. An Irish / Australian, Pennock has lived and worked in Ireland, Australia, London and New York.
Pennock uses his extensive knowledge of techniques to paint varied textural applications, from thick impasto to delicate glazing. His unique style was born from the desire to find harmony a home, away from chaos and discord, surrounded by nurturing beauty in the sub tropical Noosa hinterland. Exhibiting nationally and internationally, Pennock’s work is held in prominent collections including the British Consulate in New York and Washington, University of Ulster and the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery Collection. He was the winner of the Alan Gamble Award, Mosman Art Prize (2005) and has been a finalist in the Len Fox Painting Award (2016), Fleurieu Peninsula Art Prize (2008, 2004) and the Mosman Art Prize (2019, 2014, 2005).
