Artist statement for the work Sprouting Turbines:

Sprouting Turbines shows a reclining form in the shape of a sunflower seed germinating three sprouts, depicting wind turbine blades. The concept outlines a sustainable renewable energy cycle and the correlation between solar and wind energy. Encapsulated within the seed pod are layers of recycled corrugated iron, referencing solar radiation waves that generate both solar power and secondary wind energy.

Artist statement for the work Horrorboros:

Deviating from the ancient Ouroboros symbol that depicts a snake swallowing its own tail as representation of the circle of life, the ‘Horrorboros’ shows a distorted snake form with two heads, attacking itself and forgoing the life replenishing cycle of renewal. This image represents the flaws inherent in current political systems, where self-preservation, greed and power are more important to our politicians at times than their contribution to the greater good of the people. Also referenced in the power imbalances of the ‘Horrorboros’ is the lack of tolerance for opposing views that arises with extremist thinking and political ideologies.
