Satori is the Japanese Buddhist term for awakening. It refers to a deep experience of kenso – seeing into one’s true nature and essence.
2021 was a year of personal trials and triumphs. These works stem from this time of self reflection and introspection. They portray emotional challenges and spiritual revelations. This cathartic process has resulted in narrative allegorical imagery that explores my psyche. The birds and objects have been carefully selected for their symbolism, which expresses both the sacredness and fragility of the human condition. My intention is to retain a sense of enquiry and to encourage dialogue between my art and the viewer.
