Nick Dridan creates paintings based on his surrounding environment, on a farm in Central Victoria. He seeks to distill the shapes, lines, colours and other elements into something akin to visual poetry. Often a work begins with an underlying feeling or loose narrative. A sense of place is evident, but seems more like a theatre set, or backdrop where things can play out. Part real and part imagined, his paintings reflect an inner and outer world. Dridan has been a finalist in several prizes including the A.M.E Bale traveling prize and the Len Fox Painting Prize.
