Chris Ingham

Sculptor and printmaker Chris Ingham was born in Adelaide. He is currently living and working in Melbourne, where he divides his time between his art practice and part-time work as a printer, editioning indigenous etchings and teaching printmaking workshops at Baldessin Press. He spent many years working at Fundere Fine Art Foundry, casting monumental bronze sculptures, learning the craft of waxwork and mould making, leading to him developing and pursuing his own style of making small and hand painted quirky bronze figures.

Chris has participated in numerous residencies in both Europe and North America, and along with this has exhibited his work widely and shown in many prize shows here in Australia. Chris’ work explores traditional mediums and methods of making art, coupled with an expressive and gestural personal mark making style that is heavily reliant on spontaneity, humour and freshness.
