Barbara Hanrahan

Barbara Hanrahan (1939-1991) was an Adelaide-born artist, printmaker and writer. Characterised by playfully complex narratives that draw on personal experience and fantasy, woven with witty commentary on twentieth century society and culture, Hanrahan’s artworks were fearlessly direct and unashamedly decorative in style. Her work over the years included linocuts, etchings, woodcuts and screenprints that were created between London and Adelaide.
