Augustine Dall'Ava

Augustine Dall’Ava (Gus) is a Melbourne based sculptor who has been working and exhibiting in Australia for 50 years. Nature plays an integral role in the creation of the work crafted and assembled to give new context and meaning to the intrinsic quality of the natural materials. Gus tries to capture the essence rather than the literal. Often intimate in scale, and colourful, the sculptures challenge the viewer with their balance / imbalance, grace, harmony and sensuousness as the artist tries to defy gravity. All of his work is defined by the workmanship and attention to detail in every element of the sculpture.
